Competing against approximately 12,000 entries, Travels With Music receives Bronze Award

Oakland, California – July 9, 2014 – The 35th Annual Telly Awards announced its winners and Travels With Music was named a Bronze Telly winner. This year’s winners include companies, agencies, and organizations of all sizes, from large multinational media companies to small ad agencies and local production houses. The 2014 awards mark one of the most competitive in the history of the Telly Awards with nearly 12,000 entries from all states nationwide, as well as numerous countries from five continents.

Founded in 1979, the Telly Awards is the premier award honoring outstanding local, regional, and cable TV commercials and programs, the finest video and film productions, and web commercials, videos, and films. Winners represent the best work of the most respected advertising agencies, production companies, television stations, cable operators, and corporate video departments in the world.

A prestigious judging panel of 650 plus accomplished industry professionals, each a past winner of a Silver Telly, which is the highest award honor and a member of The Silver Telly Council, judged the competition, upholding the historical standard of excellence that Telly represents. Created by Listen for Life™, a global nonprofit music-media organization dedicated to reviving the power of music worldwide, Travels With Music is a K-12 multimedia program that uses music to explore cultures. The program explores the richness and diversity of 15 world cultures – Bulgaria, Chile, China, India, Indonesia, Israel, Lebanon, Morocco, Nigeria, Pakistan, Peru, Senegal, the Philippines, Trinidad, and the USA – through the use of 300 video and audio segments that comprise six hours of instruction.

The unique and engaging content in Travels With Music is ideal for instruction in history,geography, ESL/EFL/TESOL, cultural diversity, cultural literacy, music, and tolerance. Available as an online subscription and on DVD, Travels With Music introduces each culture by providing perspective on its origins and history, its surrounding geography,and what makes that culture unique in terms of its customs, traditions, language(s), and music. Individual subscriptions, as well as DVDs or DVD-ROMs, are sold for $69.95 each. Teachers with online subscriptions may purchase student accounts for $10 per student.
